Well, suprised me, but it happened! My two amazons, one is a redhead, the other a double-yellow, have lived together for about 24 years. About three years ago the redhead suprised and started laying eggs. I never expected any to hatch, but this past May, she laid two one day, then a third the following day. Well, about a month later I went out to feed them and I peeked into their box and was I very suprised. There was a new baby chick in there. I left baby for parents to raise because I have no experience in hand-raising baby birds, plus I just didn't have the time. I decided to wait until it was weaned of feeding by parents. I just recently separated it from adults and brought into house. I am glad that I separated it from adults because the male yellowhead was preening and plucking feathers off the baby. The baby bird is about 12 weeks old now and looks full grown. Its already larger than the female. Its been very easy to tame and loves to be outside of its cage and on my hand or shoulder.
